Drop Down Charters Fishing Report for St. Augustine Florida - 07/20/2017

 Bait: planners and spoons

Water temp: 80

Water depth: 65ft

What's biting: cobia, kingfish, amberjack

Still good half day action on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters here in St. Augustine Florida in this month of July. All you half dayers that want to catch some nice fish but don't want to be out there in the heat all day now is the time to get the last of the constant troll bite. The bait has been pretty  hit or miss and I like to be ready and troll early so I've been skipping the bait and just trolling artificial lures. It's been very productive and still catching a lot of kingfish, barracuda, cobia, and boneheads. Head offshore to the live bottom or structure in 65ft and troll around. Look for any signs of life. Birds, baitfish, or weed line all hold Fish. Come book your trip on Drop Down Sport Fish Charters and let's go fishing!

As we enter the month of May, fish will be chewing from all angles! A lot of my trips this month will be in the deep, as we target offshore pelagics. Mahi, one of the most extciting game fish around will be biting ballyhoo on the troll in high numbers. Find a good water temp change and breaks or rips in the ocean. A weed line in the perfect senerio and fish will be there. Always have multiple rods ready incase you see free swimmers. If your ready to go catch some awesome fish and great memories give us a call and let's go fishing!

Water temp: 73 degrees

Water depth: 100ft

What's biting: Snapper/Amberjack/Triggerfish

Aww, the month of April, spring is here and the fish are too! I have had a pretty decent month bottom fishing offshore and have been finding fish at 80/100ft. Drop down some sardines on the wrecks and the fish are there! The bees (a.k.a. Snapper) were fired up along with some nice Amberjack. Also, Gulf Stream pelagics like Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna fish, and Billfish will be on the hunt for food as they go north. Get your gear ready it's on!
