Fishing Report – Gulf Stream Action Heating Up!

Good evening from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters in the beautiful city St.Augustine Florida.

Summer is heating up in the oldest city in America, and so is the offshore bite! If you're heading to town for some deep sea fishing off the coast of St. Augustine, Florida, now’s the time to book your St. Augustine fishing charter.

This July, offshore kingfish are running strong, with solid action on the troll and near wrecks. These fast, hard-fighting predators are providing plenty of excitement for anglers looking for that screaming drag and adrenaline rush.

On the bottom, the bite is just as hot. We’re seeing great numbers of mangrove snapper, vermilion snapper, and lane snapper, all eager to take a well-placed bait. Triggerfish are also showing up in good numbers and making for excellent table fare.

Whether you're a seasoned angler or looking to book your first offshore fishing trip, the conditions out of St. Augustine are lining up perfectly for an unforgettable day on the water.

Drop Down Sport Fish Charters is running daily trips and ready to get you hooked up—offering expert crews, top-quality gear, and local knowledge that puts you right on the fish.

Please don’t be fooled by these “new captains“ on the Fishing Booker website or other phony and fake websites. Don’t be fooled and book an offshore fishing Charter on a 20 foot boat with 4 to 6 people and think you’re going offshore only to be canceled the night before because “It’s too rough” . Time and time again I get these calls from poor people booking on Fishing Booker with captains that have barely been in the ocean and expect to catch offshore fish. Do your research. Look at the pictures of what they really catch daily.

Come experience fishing with a born and raised local captain and why fishing in St. Augustine is one of Florida’s hidden gems—where rich history meets world-class fishing.

Tight lines and let’s go fishing!!!

Good afternoon from Drop Down Sport Fish Charters here in the oldest city in the nation Saint Augustine Florida. The weather here is currently 66° partly cloudy and very breezy with 20 knot winds out of the north seas 5 to 7 feet choppy. The offshore fishing charters here in Saint Augustine have been a little bit funky the last week or so with some cold dirty water lingering around. I have had some shorter offshore fishing charters this past week and the small chicken snapper have taken over. We caught 100+ red snapper and only 11 Vermilion snapper. Red snapper are definitely not endangered and I wish the Fwc and Noaa fisheries would take more action and give us a longer season than 3-5 days of open season. Offshore fishing charters at the Gulfstream in St.Augustine will start getting good and the pelagics like sail fish, wahoo, tuna fish, mahi and even blue marlin will be passing by us any day. Deep sea fishing charters for Cobia should also be getting better. Always have multiple ways to catch cobia and amberjack or other pelagics that could swim up. If your looking to go offshore fishing in St.Augustine Florida give Drop Down Sport Fish Charters a call and let’s go fishing!!
